About the game

Mindbreak is a tile-based exploration driven puzzle adventure game about escaping a corrupted insane asylum.

Play as the supernaturally gifted asylum patients building and combining their unique abilities to explore and master a mysterious, vast and interconnected world.

Use your puzzle solving skills along with the ability of each character to navigate the vast and interconnected asylum. Combining the tile-based puzzle feel of Sokoban-likes with the thrill of exploration and ability building usually associated with metroidvanias, Mindbreak is sure to leave you both puzzled and intrigued.

Key Features

Unique characters and abilities: Whether it’s the ability to teleport or to temporarily enter a separate dimension, the different characters are not only equipped with unique personalities.
Color-based puzzles: Puzzles are based on colored tiles. Each character matches a color and can only walk along tiles of that color. Black is impassable to all, while white can be used by anyone.
Mix-and-match abilities: Solving a puzzle is not only about figuring out the solution. The same puzzle may be solvable in different ways depending on the characters you have available at the time and the synergies their abilities create.
Upgrade abilities to advance: As you venture further, more powerful abilities are needed to advance. The asylum provides ways of upgrading your powers, but they rarely come for free.
You are never alone: Watch out! Guards are always patrolling the corridors, and the greatest advances are often guarded by more powerful enemies with supernatural abilities of their own.

About the developer

Lost Umbrella Games is an indie studio based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Founded in 2023, its small team of two has crafted a handful of minor free titles and is currently working on the studio’s debut commercial release.

We’re driven by a deep love for games, the magic of watching others explore our worlds, and a belief that when you have what it takes to make games - you should.
